The Widow and Her Coins

Being very poor. Abundance- having a lot of something. More then is needed. True or false:
Activity: Print off coins and dollars. Give a few kids two coins each and give the rest of the children between $800 and $1,000. Have the children with the coins give you all their coins. Have the other children give you between $100 to $300. Ask the children who gave the dollars how much money they have left. Then ask the children who had the coins how much they have left. Repeat again switching the children who had coins and the children who had dollars. Discuss why it meant so much for the widow to give her two coins. Extra: Print off the widows coins and have the children color them. Then have them glue the Scriptures to the back of the coins. Craft: You will need: Print offs (part one and part two) tape or glue pop cycle sticks Construction paper Fake fern First print off images and have the children color them. Cut out Jesus image and then cut out line on the picture. Glue or tape a pop cycle stick to Jesus. Cut out cloaks from construction paper and glue on the road (not coving the cut out line). Also, glue pieces of fake fern along the road (you can find this at the dollar tree). Have the children slide the pop cycle stick through the cut out. Now Jesus can ride to Jerusalem. Then hot glue leaves along the top popsicle stick as if it was a tree branch. After that, make a person out of a pipe cleaner. Wrap his arms and legs along the branch. Craft: you will need: Print off Wax paper Sharpie Tape Scissors Print off leper boy craft. Cut out a piece of wax paper the same size as the print off. Place wax paper over the top of the boy. Tape it only to the top of the paper. You should be able to flip the wax paper back and forth. You or the children take a sharpie and draw on the wax paper. Give the little boy a frown and bandages. Once you are done, have the children see the difference between the sick boy and the healed boy by flipping the wax paper back-and-forth. The children can also color the print off itself if they would like.
