Creating a Songbook
The purpose of my Bible class material is to help teach children simply about Jesus and his life.
Each week the kids get to learn about an event from Jesus’s life and a quick review of all the events they have learned about previously. I like to create a song book for each of the children. Every week I have the kids color a coloring sheet. I then place it into a folder with a copy of that weeks song facing it. When we review the songs each week I give the children their folders to flip through. My hope is, while reviewing the songs and seeing the pictures again the children may have a better chance of remembering the story. Once we have completed the whole Bible class, from Jesus’s birth to Jesus’s ascension into heaven, I send the children home with their songbooks to keep. I suggest they try and teach the songs to their parents and siblings.
All you need to do is print a copy of the song that week for every child. Keep their coloring sheets when they are done. Buy some folders and hole punch the papers. Have the song and picture placed where you can see them both at the same opening. You could also slide the papers into paper protectors if you would prefer.
